A child prodigy,Paul Posnak received a full scholarship to the Julliard School of Music when he was eight years old. He subsequently earned Bachelor, Masters and Doctoral degrees, and was awarded the Loeb Prize (Juilliard's highest award). In addition, he won First Prize awards in both the International J.S. Bach Competition and the Concert Artists Guild Competition in New York, resulting in a performance at the White House and national recognition. He has accompanied and collaborated with Luciano Pavarotti and Jennie Tourel and performed and recorded with such acclaimed ensembles as the Emerson String Quartet, The Fine Arts String Quartet, The St. Petersburg Quartet, The Dorian Woodwind Quintet and The Portland, New World, Vega and Bergonzi String Quartets.  His recent appearances as soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra at The Kennedy Center received high praise (see performance reviews), resulting in a special performance in May, 2003 for The Supreme Court of the United States. 

Dr. Posnak's distinguished career as both a classical artist and jazz pianist has brought him international recognition, while his 14  CD recordings for EMI Classics, Naxos, Arabesque, Stradivari Classics and  Yamaha Disklavier have drawn universal praise. He has entertained audiences on four continents, and millions more have heard him on such popular radio programs as National Public Radio's "Performance Today", London's "Platform Live" and in live broadcasts on major stations throughout the U.S.  He has completed a  multi-CD project of American music for Naxos, and has just recorded the Tangos of Ernesto Nazareth for the Cambria label. He is a national judge of the Grammy Awards.

When not performing or recording, Dr. Posnak serves as Professor of Music and Director of the Accompanying/ Chamber Music Program at the University of Miami School of Music Frost School of Music, and is the Founding Artisitic Director of the St. Martha-Yamaha Concert Series.  He is in great demand as a teacher and clinician throughout the U.S.,Europe and Asia. He lives in Coral Gables, FL with his wife Harriett Galvin and daughters Sarah and Jenny.
